Sons in Retirement (SIR) is a menís social group with over 150 branches in cities throughout Northern California.  The organization is made up of retired or semi-retired men that meet monthly for lunch.  There are no membership dues. Each member pays for his own lunch and may contribute a small amount for branch operation costs.

The organization was begun in the San Francisco Bay Area by four men that met for lunch after retirement to continue their long friendship.  The group grew in size until it decided to become a formal non-profit organization in 1959.

The main purpose of SIR is to provide the opportunity to continue old and new friendships and to promote independence and dignity among retired men.  New members must be sponsored by an active SIR member.

If you would like to join our Branch you can get all of the information about how to do it by clicking on the MEMBERSHIP button on the left of this page.
